Alice Clark

Brevard, North Carolina

Alice Clark, 87, of Brevard, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018.

Raised in Arkansas and Oklahoma, Alice spent the last 51 years of her life in Brevard. She attended Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas, and was a member of the Brevard Church of Christ. Alice retired from Transylvania County Schools as a teacher assistant and central office secretary in 1992. In addition to her parents, Hugh and Marion Straughn, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 60 years, Quentin; three daughters, Holly Watkins (Lonnie) of Apex, Kelly Clark of Brevard, and Melissa Carmine (Doug) of Mount Dora, FL; granddaughter Heather Nossaman (Lucas) of Knoxville, TN, grandson Seth Watkins of Apex, great-grandson Ezra Nossaman, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, worshipping and working with her church family, talking and laughing with friends, sewing and quilting, and Tarheel basketball. She also enjoyed spending time on the phone and computer keeping in touch with relatives and old friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2:00 pm, at the Brevard Church of Christ on Highway 64. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm.

The family wishes to thank special friends Darlene, Lavonnia and Sherry and Care Partners Hospice in Brevard.
