Ann Garrett Ayers, 73, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Anne West Garrett.
A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, she began her nursing career in Atlanta at Grady Hospital. In later years she would also work as a nursing instructor before becoming the Director of Park of Brevard, now known as Cedar Mountain House.
Ann also loved crafts, particular art where she studied and became certified as a Donna Dewberry painting instructor. She and her husband, Kenneth, created and sold a number of different pieces of her artistry. She also enjoyed nature, particularly hummingbirds, but the great love and passion of her life was her family.
