Anna Fisher

Anna Geraldine Owen Fisher, 87, of Lake Toxaway, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 15, 21017. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Tillman and Sarah Iva Lee Owen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Mancil Cyrus "Tony" Fisher and one son and one daughter; 3 brothers: Edward Carroll Owen, Daniel Boone Owen and Donald Laronde "Ronnie" Owen; and 3 sisters: Willa Jean Norris, Ernestine Ward and Josephine Smith.
The family would like to thank God for giving us such a wonderful mother. Our mother loved us unconditionally and immeasurably her whole life. Our mother was truly a virtuous woman: she sacrificed her whole life to give us a wonderful and happy home. She was always there for us to bear our sorrows, share our joys, to take care of us when we were sick and teach us right from wrong. Our mother was an example of what is good in this life. She instilled hope, hard work, love and inspiration, not only for us but to many other people as well. Our mother was an example of how to love others. We have heard from many about the love and inspiration she gave them through letters, cards and special notes. She was always encouraging others. She had a wonderful way of always making you feel special. Despite only having a fifth grade education, she had a gift from God, having wisdom that only He could give. She was able to make something wonderful out of almost nothing. Just the sight of her would brighten you day. She cared not only for herself but for others. Praise the Lord we will see you again, Mama.
She is survived by her five children: Lois Jean Fisher, Dean Lawson Fisher, Sharon Lee Patterson (Rick), Karen Lynn Fisher (Jeff Suddeth) and Faith Dawn Bishop (Lenoir); grandchildren Jonathon Heath Chappell, Jennifer Chappell Orr, Crystal Owen, Joshua Daniel Galloway, Dana Goulet, Justin Anthony Chappell and Jerimiah Tyrell Galloway; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers David Girtha Owen and Hoyt Owen and her sister Christine Owen Shelton.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Fisher will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Quebec with Rev. Chris Norris and Rev. Eddie Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, prior to the service.
