Brevard - Anne Wamsley, 96, died February 4, 2011 at Tore's Home.

She was born on October 3, 1914 to the late Albert Gallatin and Ada Trimmer Toney in Huntington, WV. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wamsley.

She attended Marshall College and had a life-long interest in music, reading, and needlework. She was a former resident of Parkersburg, WV and a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church where she was active in the altar guild. She lived at College Walk for 17 years, and the family is grateful for the loving and compassionate care she received there.

Surviving are her daughter, Jane Wamsley Chandler (Bill) of Marietta GA and Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Kathryn Elizabeth Chandler of Salem, MA, Andrew Gallatin Chandler of Atlanta; nieces, Ann Myers (Harry) of Hendersonville, NC, Nancy Jones of Cordele, GA, and Mrs. Burt Wright of New Castle, Pa.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Brevard at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Transylvania County Hospice, PO Box 2440, Brevard, NC 28712, Sharing House, or to St. Phillips Episcopal Church, Brevard, NC.
