Annie Brown

Annie M. Brown, 82, of Brevard, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. A Transylvania County native, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Lee and Reba Gravley Holden. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, B. Claude Brown, Jr., and their grandson, Matthew Brown.

One of the most unselfish people you could ever know, she spent countless hours worrying and praying for others. She would always rather fret over others than herself. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework, watching wildlife, deer, birds and the occasional bear out her window, and writing poems. But it was always her faith in God that she relied on and found comfort in.

It was her family, God’s great gift to her that brought her the greatest joy. Her sons, David and his wife Kristi, Douglas and Donnie; her grandchildren: Hope and her fiance' Steve Headen, Cody and Cameron great-granddaughter Veronica Headen; her grandson Matthew’s widow, Paulina Weaver and her husband TJ, and their daughter Peyton; and her brother Alvin Holden and his wife, Jan.

Funeral Services for Annie Brown will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Owen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her honor to WGCR, 3232 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
