Arthur Hewsenian

Penrose - Arthur Hewsenian, 86, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at The Oaks.

He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY in 1945. While serving in the Merchant Marines he saw battle in WWII. He later served as a Lt. in the Navy. He was in the automotive business for many years in New York. His lifelong dream was realized when he and his wife retired to Penrose in 1993 to enjoy the mountains.

Arthur was a member and very active in the Brevard Civitan. He was passionate about helping others, generous with his time, energy and money when others were in need. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and hiking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beatrice Hewsenian; one daughter; Donna Pekarek and husband Brian of Dallas, TX, one son; Dr. Richard Gross of St. Louis, MO., one brother; Vinnie Fondacaro of FL., one sister; Terry Beery of Ohio and two grandchildren; Brandon and Marissa Pekarek of Dallas, TX.
