Ashby Warren Bardwell
Brevard - Ashby Warren Bardwell, born in Mount Rainier, MD on Feb. 1, 1917, died Wed., January 13, 2010.
Mr. Bardwell and his wife moved to Brevard in 1970 where they ran the Cabin in the Pines in Pisgah Forest. He then purchased Bass Lake where he and his wife built several houses. In 1973, he bought the Clothing Care Center that he ran for 12 years. They retired to the Etowah area in 1987.
Mr. Bardwell was the son of the late Halsey Warren Bardwell and Ida Estes Bardwell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Alan Bardwell, twin brother, Halsey Bardwell, brother, Bill Bardwell, sister, Betty Ludwig.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Limpert Bardwell; daughters, Sandra Celebrezze of Ohio, Sylvia Warren and husband Steve of Brevard; son, Ashby Bardwell of Nevada; grandchildren, Ray Warren and wife Karen of Brevard, Roger Warren and wife Jenna of Brevard; Dominic Cugini and wife Melissa of Ohio, Wendy Bardwell of Nevada; step-grandchildren, Stephen Warren and wife Vicki of Brevard, Karen Putnam of Brevard; great-grandchildren, Myriah, Keenan, Kaleb, Ki, Haley, and Dakota; many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Glady Branch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and people at the hospital and especially all of the people at The Oaks toward his care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
