Barbara Brown

Barbara Jean (Reinstein) Brown, 77, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. A native of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Julia Brosko Reinstein III. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Grey.

Barbara had a natural gift for the arts and enjoyed painting, weaving, crocheting, pottery and a number of crafts. She and her husband were drawn to the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and Brevard’s artisan community in 1997, where they built their dream home.

She had a passion for her family and was a great caregiver and encourager of all who knew her. She also had a passion for animals, including her cats Strider and Minnie and Golden Lab Molly. Barbara volunteered her time, bookkeeping talents and money in support of animal causes and shelters.

Her loving survivors include her husband, William Brown; brothers Daniel Reinstein IV and Paul Reinstein, sisters Joan Basquill and Gail Hammond; children Joseph Grey II and Kelly Grey; and grandchildren, Joseph Grey III and Gabrielle Grey.
