Rosman - Barbara Holcomb Pitawankwat, 66, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Transylvania county, she was a daughter to the late Robert O. and Tilda Butler Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Pitawankwat who passed away in October of 1996; and her sisters; Doris Ramsey and Polly Chappell.

Barbara was a wonderful mother, a devoted grandmother, a marvelous great grandmother, fantastic sister, and a faithful friend. She was a member of Old Toxaway Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving is her son Rene' Pitawankwat of Rosman; twin brother, Bob Holcomb and wife Margie of Rosman; sisters, Georgia Anders and husband Dean of Silversteen, Martha Aiken of Rosman; grandchildren, Kerstie, Kayla, Krista, Kylee, Kensley, and Eduardo; great grandchildren; Jasmin and James.

The family would like to thank grandchildren Kayla and Eduardo for their loving care and constant devotion to their grandmother for over three years.

Funeral services will be held at Old Toxaway Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 am with the Rev's. Tony Lambert, Chester Chappell, and Bradley Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Moore Funeral Home from 7pm - 9pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to Moore Funeral Home for assistance with the funeral expenses.
