Betty Whitmire

Betty Sue Heath Whitmire, 76, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph McKinley and Bessie Lee Heath. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister Ann Gosnell and her brother, Bobby Heath.

She was always full of wisdom, which she shared with her family.  She could sew, paint, or many other things: usually whatever she set her mind to. Mostly, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

Her loving survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jerry Whitmire; their children: Kimberly Whitmire of Germany, Cecil Whitmire of Brevard, Susan Whitmire of Brevard, and Rachel Buchanan (Brad) of Hendersonville; grandson Alex Buchanan; brothers Billy Joe Heath, Wayne Heath and Randy Heath and sister Jean Crossley.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.
