Blanche Martin

Blanche Lankford Martin, 78, died January 19, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was a daughter of the late Ed and Lillie Lankford of Madison County. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Stanley, Hugh, LeRoy and Dean Lankford and four sisters; Flora Pruden, Mary Lou Robinson, Shirley Russell and Doris Waldroup. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church for over 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Oliver Martin, one son; Paul Martin and wife Jean of Pisgah Forest, NC, one daughter; Kay Adkins and husband Bill of Ruskin, Fl., two brothers; Vern Lankford of Texas and Ed Lankford and wife Brenda of Spruce Pine, NC, four sisters; Dela Mae Scott of Tenn., Loraine Crouch of FL., Willene Moore of Mills River, NC, and Sonya Carver and husband Doug of Spruce Pine, NC., brother-in-law; Don Waldroup of Spruce Pine, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Whitfield officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Turkey Creek Baptist Church, General Fund, 805 Capps Rd., Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
Blanche's family would like to thank everyone at The Oaks who cared so lovingly for her for the last three years of her life. She cherished the relationships she developed with each and every one of them.
