Brenda Durant

Brenda Joyce Shook Durant, 68, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Brevard, she was the daughter of the late Vance Furman and Bonnie Beatrice Hall Shook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Vance Randall Shook, her sister Phyllis Ann Freeman, her daughter Judith Amanda Brotherton, and her grandson Joey Michael O'Shields.

She is survived by her husband, Stephan Durant; children Stephanie Rodriguez (Nathaniel) of Pisgah Forest, Johnny Vance O'Shields (Cyndi) of Rosman, Kimberly Dawn Lambrecht (Don) of Etowah, Scott (Tina) Durant of Bombay, NY, Stephanie Ruffner (Robert) Brevard, NC, Shanna Bressie of California, and Shannon Beaudin (David) of Constable, NY; her brother Nathan Shook of Henderson County; her sisters Susan Roberts (Rick) Brevard and Sharon Shook of Brevard; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Brenda Joyce Durant will be 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations in Brevard with Rev. Terry Whitesides officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., prior to the service.
