Cebren Brown
Rosman - Cebren Brown, 74, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Transylvania Community Hospital.
A native of Jackson County, he retired from Dupont after 27 years of service. He loved blue grass and old time country music and he devoted his life to playing the dog house bass with many different bands all over the country. He produced a CD with one of the bands he played with.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Owen, his first wife, Elma Brown, and his sister, Iris Owen.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Pressley Brown of the home; daughters, Rita Watson and husband Wayne of Penrose, and Wanda McCall and husband Mike of Penrose; sons, Spencer Brown and wife Debbie of Penrose, Randy Brown and wife Cherri of Pisgah Forest, Gordon Brown of Pisgah Forest, and David Brown and wife Angel of Penrose; step daughter, Debbie Siniard and husband David of Penrose; sisters, Virginia Holland of Pisgah Forest and Jean Snipes of Rosman; brother, James Owen of Pisgah Forest; 7 granddaughters, 6 grandsons; 1 great grandson.
The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Davidson River Cemetery Extn., with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Dunn's Rock Masonic Lodge #267.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Thursday at Moore Funeral Home.
