Charles Alexander

Charles Mitchell Alexander, 72, of Lake Toxaway, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. A native of Cook County, Illinois, he was the son of the late Earnest Mitchell and Joanne Brucer Alexander. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Craig Mitchell Alexander.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Alexander; son Robert "Bob" Alexander and wife Kim of Winnebago, IL; granddaughters Brianna Alexander and Emma Alexander of Winnebago, IL; brother Russell Alexander and wife Judy of Cedar Lake, IN., sisters Beverly Alexander Staska and husband Edwin of Matteson, IL., Deborah Thomson and husband John of Schaumburg, IL., and Lori Fields of Lansing, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a strong willed and fiercely loyal man who expressed his love through sacrifice, conviction and affection. He was willing to help at any time for as long as it would take. He cherished his wife and taught his boys to treat her like a lady. Even during his fight with Alzheimer's, he continued to open doors for the women he loved. A consummate do-it-yourselfer, he patiently taught his sons all he knew. Never afraid of hard work or conversation, all could count on a strong hand and a friendly joke. Although Chuck will be greatly missed, all our hearts are overjoyed to know he has seen Jesus face to face and is reunited with his son Craig in Glory.
A time of remembrance for Charles Alexander will be held at North Toxaway Baptist Church during the 11:00 A.M. worship service on Sunday March 8, 2014 with Rev. Tommy Mullis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to 7-11 Club (Youth Outreach Ministries) at North Toxaway Baptist Church, 51 Slick Fisher Road, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747.
