Charles Frederick Hinkle, 98, of Sapphire, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late William Henry and Fannie McCoy Hinkle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Cumile White Hinkle and his 6 brothers and sisters.
The oldest living member of Lake Toxaway Baptist Church and retired from Olin, Fred was a car enthusiast, enjoying all types of vehicles. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He greatest love and joy was spoiling his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
His loving Survivors include his son, Mike (Beverly) Hinkle; grandchildren Jessica (Samuel) McCurry and Andrew Hinkle; and 3 great-grandchildren, McKinnley, Ray and Wynter.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held.
