Charles Howard "Butch" Morris

Charles Howard “Butch” Morris, 83, of Etowah, NC died Wednesday September 18, 2024. He was as a son of the late Straley Howard “Boots” Morris and Gertrude “Tood” Whitson Morris .

Charles was a 1959 graduate of Brevard High School, and he attended Western Carolina University for 2 years. He retired as a Master Sargent in the US Air Force after serving his country for 20 years and 2 weeks. In which he was an aircraft mechanic and specialized in B-52 Bombers.

When he returned to North Carolina , he taught automotive mechanics at Blue Ridge Community College for about 5 years then he went to work for the City of Hendersonville as a mechanic before retiring. 

Charles loved watching his grandkids play their sports and enjoyed spending all the time he could with his family.

He is survived by three sons: Chad A. Morris (Susan) of Sunnyview, NC, Casey A. Morris of Etowah, NC, and Carl A. Morris (Erica) of Mills River, NC, one daughter: Cindy L. Morris Youngblood (Jeff) of Hoopers Creek, NC, eight grandchildren: Christopher, Jesse, Mason, Cameron, Chloe, and Katie Morris, and Justin and Kevin Youngblood. He is also survived by a brother Harold Morris and a sister, Barbara Turner. Several nephews, nieces, cousins. And many others that he loved as family through the years.

Services for Charles will be held at a later date.
