Charles "Red" W. Sullivan

Pisgah Forest - Charles "Red" W. Sullivan, 79, of Pisgah Forest formerly of Colona, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard.

He was born on January 20, 1932 in Temple Hill, IL to the late Carl Sullivan and Clara Wilkins Sullivan. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother; Len Sullivan and a grandson, Ryan Dieterich.

He grew up in Hampton, IL where he enjoyed the Mississippi River with his four brothers. He married the love of his life Marilyn Jean Eckelberry on April 14, 1951. He founded Green River Homes, Inc. in 1968 with his brother Jim Sullivan. He was a master carpenter and had a true gift of drawing. He spent his later years in Arizona with Marilyn.

"Red" will be remembered for his great sense of humor, dedication and love for his family.

Loved by his wife Marilyn Jean Sullivan, two sons; David Sullivan of NY, and Scott Sullivan of Moline, IL., three daughters Diane and (Larry) Jackman of Hendersonville, NC, Kathleen (Mike) Pace, of Cedar Mountain, NC, Debra (Rick) Simpson, of Colona, IL., four grandchildren, Troy Sullivan of IL, Nathan Uzella of Peru, IL, Nicholas Simpson of Geneseo, IL and Cortney Lovell of Albany, NY, great grandchildren; Cayden, Braylin, Reid, Madison and Blake, three brothers; Jim (Nancy) Sullivan, Don (Deanna) Sullivan, Gary (Dayle) Sullivan, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Pisgah Gardens with Rev. David Spray officiating.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in IL.
