Bill Ramer

Clarence William "Bill" Ramer, 72, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Born in Brevard on September 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Chuck and Anna Belle Ramer.
A Veteran of the United States armed forces, he was employed with Ecusta/Olin as an engineer for over 35 years. Following his retirement, he spent the last ten years exploring and mapping the Pisgah Ranger District, Dupont State Park and Gorges State Park where he averaged over 1000 miles on foot per year. He was a member of the Carolina Mountain Hiking Club and participated on numerous outings and events with them and the National Park Service.

Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty; two children, Mark Hopson of New Jersey and Jeff Ramer of Pisgah Forest; and three grandchildren, Tina Hopson of Florida and Amber and Ashley Ramer of Pisgah Forest.
Funeral Services for Bill Ramer will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Blantyre Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Nelson and Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Brevard with military rites conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Blantyre Baptist Church.
