Brevard - Claude S. Goodson, 78, of Brevard, NC, died October 4, 2010 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. He was a native of Transylvania Co. and was a son of the late Bob and Ella Raines Goodson. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Lloyd, James L., Floyd and Clarence Goodson.
He a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. He was employed by Ecusta as a boiler operator for 35 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Darlene Goodson, two sons; James and wife Kip Goodson of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mark and wife Tresa Goodson of Pisgah Forest, one daughter; Linda Hargus and husband Jeffery of Arden, NC, one sister; Mary Edwards of Pisgah Forest, NC, five grandchildren; Allison Edmonds, Amber Milner, Grayson Goodson, Corey Hargus, Leslie Williams, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Whitfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the church. Entombment will follow at Pisgah Gardens.
