Clayton Dowell

Clayton Dowell, beloved husband, father and grandfather departed this life on June 27, 2015. He was born September 18, 1931 in Macon County, NC to the late Will and Nancy Dowell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Dowell Paxton Allison, sons-in-law, Johnny Burton and George Case, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
He retired from Ecusta after more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Leona McConnell Rhodes Dowell; one son, Michael Dowell and wife Lisa of Summerville, SC; Step-children, Shirley Rhodes Burton, of Brevard, NC, Barbara Rhodes Newman and husband Jackie of Brevard, NC, Dickie Rhodes and wife Priscilla of Brevard, NC, Sandra Rhodes Carr Case of Pisgah Forest, NC; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Clayton will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday on July 3, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church on McLean Road, Brevard. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service.
