Connie grew up in a loving home on Forestdale Avenue in the Five Points area of Fairborn, Ohio. She attended Mt. Zion United Church of Christ with her family. She was the oldest member of the Crabtree Sisters, a singing group, comprised of her and her three sisters, that would sing at church, nursing homes and local festivals. As a child she loved her family’s yearly camping trips traveling across the United States and spoke of her memories of them often.

They were married for 13 years and had three children together. Connie married Jack Harrison in 1983; they were married for 6 years before divorcing. Connie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, animals, and living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She also enjoyed trips to the beach and would spend hours searching the shores for sea shells. One of her hobbies was bowling, for which she won many trophies. Connie also loved plants and could bring just about any dying plant back to life.
Connie worked in retail/customer service most of her life and always reminded others that “the customer is always right”. She also worked at Airborne Express in Wilmington, Ohio for many years before moving to Rosman, North Carolina to work at Coats North American in 1995. She worked at Coats until they closed in 2003 and finished her working career in retail until she retired in 2014. Connie is preceded in death by her father, Robert Crabtree, in 1998, her mother, Helen Trubee Crabtree, in 2004, and her baby sister, Vicki Crabtree Dunihue, in 2005.
