D. Frank Bridges

Brevard - D. Frank Bridges, 95, died March 18, 2010 at Tore's Home.

A native of Transylvania County , he was born on April 16, 1914 to the late Aaron A. and Alice Justus Bridges.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William W. and James O. Bridges and sister, Bernice Hollifield.

Mr. Bridges was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard. He was Master Mason for 50 plus years. He also was the former President of the Brevard Chamber of Commerce, the former President of the Shriners of Brevard, and the former President of the Kiwanis Club of Brevard. He was an avid Amateur Radio operator.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Claire R. Bridges, one son, Dru Bridges and wife Wendy of Brevard, one daughter, Debby Masengill and husband Ken of Brevard; grandchildren, Emily Ray, Mindy VanDeWater, Taylor and Benjamin Bridges; great grandchildren; Wallace and Sadie Ray, and James VanDeWater, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and was held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Brevard with the Revs. Mike Jordan and Kerry Purselle officiating.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
