Col. Dale O. Wiener (USAF retired)

Brevard - Col. Dale O. Wiener (USAF retired), 71, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his residence.

A native of Cylinder, IA, he was the son of the late Orville and Vivian Knudson Wiener.

Mr. Wiener was a Col. in the US Air Force and retired after 27 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as Vice President of Finances at Brevard College.

Surviving are his wife, Waltraud Ziemke Wiener of the home; son, Christopher M. Wiener and wife Anastasiya of Dubai, UAE; granddaughter, Rachel Wiener; brothers, Darrell Wiener of Des Moines, IA, Kevin Scott of Minneapolis, MN, Ivan Wiener of St. George, UT, and Gary Wiener of Redwood City, CA; sisters, Karen Tuntas and Kay Brennan both of Red Oaks, IA.

The graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Pisgah Gardens with the Rev. Todd Alewine officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home.
