Brevard

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Ernest Fulton, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who left us peacefully at the age of 75. Daniel, known to friends and family as Dan, was a man of many passions and an unwavering spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love and adventure.

Dan was married to his devoted wife, Lorene, for 27 cherished years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, warmth, and countless memories. He is also survived by his two children and his five stepchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride. Dan’s family was his greatest treasure, and he adored spending time with them, sharing stories and creating bonds that will last a lifetime.

Born to a loving family, Dan was the proud son of Ernest Fulton and Nina Powell and brother to Steve and Sherry Fulton and Janis and Ronald Crowe. He cherished his siblings and appreciated the deep connections they shared, often reminiscing about their childhood adventures and the lessons learned along the way.

A graduate of Western Carolina University, Class of 1975, Dan was well-read and had a thirst for knowledge that never waned. He enjoyed discussing literature, history, and the world around him, inspiring those who had the pleasure of engaging with him. Dan’s passion for learning and teaching was lived out in the lives of those he touched as he was always a willing participant to seek after more knowledge and never ceased in his curiosity.

Dan’s passions were as vast as his heart. He found solace in nature, whether it was casting a line into a tranquil river, hiking the majestic trails of the Blue Ridge Mountains, or riding horses through scenic landscapes. These activities brought him joy and peace, allowing him to connect deeply with the world around him. Dan was remembered for being an ardent champion for preserving and protecting the wild nature that surrounded him.

Dan’s kindness, humor, and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He had a unique ability to light up a room with his presence, making everyone feel valued and loved. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and inspired all of us to embrace the beauty of life. We take those lessons into our hearts and live each day to make him proud.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that those who remember him take the opportunity to enjoy a peaceful walk through the woods or the beauty of the creation around you. All condolences can be sent to PO Box 711, Brevard, NC 28718.

Rest in peace, dear Dan. Your spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and we will never forget the kindness and genuine love of which you were such an example.
