Obituary Darrell (D.L.) Miller D.L. Miller of College Walk, passed away on November 14, 2020. He was born in Jenks, Oklahoma, the son of the late Gladys Spaulding and Darrell Miller. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the basketball team, the University Hall of Fame and Omicron Delta Kappa, a national scholastic fraternity.
D.L. was employed in the marketing department of Phillips Petroleum Company for twenty-six years and played with the Phillips Oilers, a national industrial league basketball team. He was president and owner of Superior Oil Company in Florida before retiring to Brevard in 1989 where he was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan and his children Tracey McMahan and husband John of Hendersonville and Karen Cooper and husband Mike of Leicester. Also, grandsons Scott Hricsina and fiancée Elspeth Oliver and daughter Dorothy Oliver of Hendersonville and Jordan Hotchkiss and wife Marquessa of Candler, as well as great-grandchildren Raelyn, Abel and Bennett, also of Candler.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of both Pardee Hospital and the Elizabeth House for the wonderful care provided to D.L.
A private family service will be held at his church.
