Dolly K. Bryson, 89, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 on her 89th birthday. Born in Pickens County, South Carolina, she was a long-time Transylvania County resident and was the founder of Dolly's Dairy Bar in Pisgah Forest. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Emma Evett Kelley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Van Bryson, her sisters Nellie Fisher and Bertha Bryson and her brothers Ben Kelley, John Kelley, Wilburn Kelley, Clyde Kelley, Walter Kelley and Charlie Kelley.
Prior to the founding of Dolly's Dairy Bar, she had worked for a number of years as a nurse's aide at Park Ridge Hospital. A long-time member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed her church and activities there. She also enjoyed traveling and taking bus trips over the years.
Her loving survivors include her children: Janice Ward (Curtis) of Brevard, Larry Bryson (Laura) of Brevard, and Jerry Bryson (Ellen) of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren Heather L. Moore (Charles) of Brevard, and Sally Amanda Bryson of Brevard; and great-grandchildren Rachel Moore and Jordan Moore.
Funeral services for Dolly Bryson will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 22. 2018 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest. Interment will follow the service at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
