Donald Chappell

Donald Lewis "Don" Chappell, 74, of Brevard, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Mountain View Rest Home in Hendersonville. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Walter and Nettie Lyday Chappell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers Ralph, Melvin and Arnold Chappell.
Mr. Chappell was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy as well as the U.S. Marine Corps.
His loving survivors include his daughters, Kathy Dill of Brevard and Teresa Finney of Johnston, Iowa; grandchildren Crysta Bloomberg of Mountain Home, Lindsey Finney and Samantha Dill, both of Brevard; brother Clark Junior Chappell of Rosman; and sisters Ophelia Galloway of Brevard, Genelle McCall of Asheville and Gewell Shelton of Rosman; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held for Donald Chappell at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Tommy Owen officiating and Military Rites by the US Marine Corps and The Transylvania County Veterans Association Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made in care of Kathy Dill, P.O. Box 712, Rosman, NC 28772 to help with funeral expenses.
