Don Fisher

Donald Sylvester Fisher, 76, of Brevard, passed away on August 12, 2023.  Transylvania County native, he was the son of the late Clifford and Madgie Anders Fisher. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Mitchell and Laura Anthony, his brothers Allen Fisher and John Fisher, his son Jesse Lee Owen, and his grandson, Alex O’Shields.

A long-time employee of Ecusta, he was very organized and meticulous; a born supervisor. He enjoyed reading, particularly Louis L’Amour westerns and watching westerns on television. He enjoyed working on classic cars as well as in his garden. A kind-hearted and giving man, he loved being outside.

His greatest joys came watching his grandchildren and spending as much time as he could with them.

His survivors include his wife, Freida Fisher; children James Arthur Fisher, Kelly O’Shields, Alicia Fisher and Perry Fisher; sisters: Linda Owen and Martha Turner and brothers Keith Fisher and Ray Hendrix; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Quebec.
