Donna J. Daniels, 77, of Penrose, N.C. died, November 20, 2012 at her home.



She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth Markey Lilge.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Georgialee Daniels who died in 2003 and a sister; Mae Jean Sheerin.



She proudly served her country in the US Marine Corps and retired from Northwestern University.



Donna loved to knit and collect coins.



She is survived by a daughter Donielle Sharma and husband Anil of Normal, IL, a twin sister; Shirley A. Lilge of Pisgah Forest, N.C. and two nephews Michael and Patrick Hefner.



A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, December 19, 2012 in the Chapel at Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Women Marines Association, WMA, Donna Daniels Scholarship Fund, Karen Long, 1531 N. Decanter Road, #3, Atlanta, GA. 30307.
