Dorice Cook Saltz



Dorice Cook Saltz, of Brevard, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Transylvania Regional Hospital after a period of declining health.

She was born on January 10, 1918 in Bozeman, Montana to the late George and Vera Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Saltz, stepfather, George Durland, and sisters, Mary Vinson and Janet Jackson.

She is survived by her son, Cam Saltz of Brevard; daughter, Susan Saltz Austin (Alan) of Morganton; grandchildren, Amy Austin (Mitch Clark) of High Point, Amber Austin Frantz (Craig) of St. Louis, MO, Wendy Austin of Valdese, and Alan Austin, Jr. of Montreal, Canada. Also surviving are a loving friend, Tina Hartwick, step-brother, Larry Durland, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Brevard First United Methodist Church.
