Doris Ledford Farley

Brevard - Doris Ledford Farley, 90, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock.
A native of Rural Hall, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse F. Ledford and Bessie Welch Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Farley, and her sister, Eleanor Burditt.
Mrs. Farley was a graduate of Brevard College and worked in the Business Office after graduation. She also had worked in the Business office of the Transylvania County Schools, and the Personnel Office of DuPont. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brevard.
Surviving are her husband of 67 1/2 years, G.H. "Jim" Farley; sons, Steve Farley and wife Barbara of Sanford, NC, and Mike Farley and wife Cindy of Walland, TN; grandchildren, Shannon and Kristen Heath of SC, and Jamie Farley and Jessica Waters of TN.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 20, at the First United Methodist Church of Brevard with the Revs. Mike Jordan and Kerry Purselle officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Brevard, the Brevard College Scholarship Fund, Transylvania Regional Hospital Home Care, or to one's favorite charity.
