Doris Leath Moseley Guest
Brevard - Doris Leath Moseley Guest died on Friday, August 21, 2009 at her home.
Doris was born February 22, 1923 in Miami, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Napolean and Louise Volking Moseley.
She is survived by her husband, Frank John Guest, whom she married on February 2, 1946 in Houston Texas. She is also survived by her daughters, Mary Louise "Marlu" Guest Jones of Palm Springs, FL, and Joanne Elizabeth "Beth" Guest Galloway of Waynesville; two grandsons, Matthew Allen Jones of Middletown, DE, and Zachary Aherns Galloway of Tallahassee, FL; one granddaughter-in-law, Kate Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Clove Cook, Gus Jones, and Ryleigh Jones.
Doris volunteered at the Transylvania County Library from 1962 until 2003. She loved to weave and spent many happy hours at the Shuttle Shack weaving towels, blankets, table linens and other gifts for friends and family. She loved hiking in Pisgah Forest and the Smokies. She never tired of walking the trails, admiring the wild flowers and watching the birds. Doris wanted to be remembered as loving her family, respecting her fellow man and treading lightly on this planet. She succeeded in attaining these goals.
Frank and Doris traveled the world over for all their life together, but Doris was always happiest in Transylvania County.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 29, 2009 in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 until 10:45 Saturday at the funeral home.
