Doris Townsend

Doris F. Townsend, 70, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard. She was born in Bessemer, AL to Myrtle Hendon Davis and the late Ernest Davis. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Belvet Earl Townsend, Sr., their son Kenneth Maurice Townsend and her brother Frankie Carl Davis.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was passionate about her sons and her grandchildren. She loved westerns, soap operas, gardening and going to church. She helped and inspired all who were fortunate and blessed to cross her path.

Mrs. Townsend is survived by her sons Belvet Earl Townsend, Jr., Darren Townsend and Anthony Dwayne Townsend; sisters Sharon Coats, Shirley Davis, Phyllis Davis, Jacqueline Bowlds, Thomasine Baker; brothers Earnest Hentley and Kenneth Davis; daughters-in-law Sharon Townsend, Shawna Stroh and Hattie Townsend; grandchildren Alexandria Wynn, Marquisey Townsend, Abby Townsend, Armani E.K. Townsend, Aarrion Unique Townsend, Darren Towsend, Jr., Antonio Graham, Savana Graham, Kanikka Graham, Aniya Hemphill, Moniqueka Townsend, DeShayla Townsend and Tiana Townsend, Delores Bunch, Angie Bunch and Lakesha Bunch; and great-grandchildren Niema Collington, Myrikal Collington and L'Tien Collington, Desmond Bunch, Rakeem Smith, Kenyanda Smith, Chandante McMinn: and great-great-grandchildren Brianna Jenkins, Kimora Jenkins, Dez'nya Bunch, Kan'zae Smith, Ky'mani Bunch, Te'anna McMinn.

The Funeral Service for Doris Townsend will be 1 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. David Suber officiating.
Interment will be 2 P.M. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Alabama National Cemetery.
