Etowah - Dorothy Hill Gillespie, 66 years old went home to be Jesus on March 10, 2011 at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC.

She was a daughter of the late Gladden and Beatrice Hill. She was preceded in death be a son; James Steven Gillespie, three sisters; Gurthie Ferguson, Cleo Teague, Annie Faye Hill and three brothers; Mitchell, Boyd and Roger Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Clifford Gillespie, two sons; Gerald Gillespie and wife Audra and Earl Gillespie and wife Allison all of Etowah, NC, one brother; Robert Hill of Rutherfordton, NC, one sister; Jessie Whiteside of Asheville, NC, five grandchildren; Chris Litel, Jacob and Brenton Gillespie and Autumn and Johnathan Gillespie and one great grandson; Jaxson Litel and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Stoney Mountain Baptist Church, Hendersonville with the Rev. Larry Applebee, Brother Earl Gillespie and Rev. Charles Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
