Dorothy (Dottie) Loftis Hamilton



Pisgah Forest - Dorothy (Dottie) Loftis Hamilton, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Transylvania Community Hospital.

A native of Transylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Edna Marshall Loftis and wife of the late Malcolm "Hoss" Hamilton for more than 50 years.

Survivors include one son: Jack Hamilton and wife Trish, one brother: Marshall Loftis and wife Nell, one sister: Frances Hawkins and husband Dan, sister-in-laws, Alma Holtzclaw and Jo Roberts, grandchildren: Tricia Hamilton and her husband Chris Bordman, Matt Reynolds and wife Traci, Ashley Pendleton and husband John, 5 great grandchildren: Ethan, Owen, Shawn, Chloe and Kody and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wilson, and two brothers: Jack and Eddie Loftis.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kerry Purselle officiating. Burial will follow at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9:00PM Friday at the funeral home.
