Balsam Grove-She wanted to "stay and play with the kids" but on September 3, 2010 Dorothy L. Heissler passed away in her home.
Born in New York City on July 22, 1926 she was the oldest daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Ekert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard who died in 2000.
She will be terribly missed by her daughter, Gail Fry and husband Robert, whom she loved as a son. Also, sharing in the loss of their Nana, are her granddaughters; Debra Wagner and Dave Podobed and Jennifer and Scott Gosnell. Great grandchildren Tyler, Zachary, Brendan, Tess and Julian have lost their playmate. Included in her family's sorrow are a sister Joan Mino, sisters in law; Jean Moran and Agnes Ekert and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Four Seasons Hospice and the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock for their loving care of their mother and her family.
No local services are planned. Burial will be private in New Jersey at a later date.
