Dorothy Hering

Dorothy "Dottie" Gene Hering, 86, of Penrose, NC passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Leander Lundin and Katherine Edna Hoehn Lundin. She was preceded in death by two sons; George Valentine and Gary Valentine, one brother; Charles Arthur Lundin, two sisters; Edna Katherine Neyssen and Gloria Foltmann.

She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and of the Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Dottie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a passion for knitting and crocheting. Some of her tablecloths, doilies and baby blankets are all over the world including Germany, Australia, New York and North Carolina.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Hering, two daughters; Renee Egert and husband Lloyd of Manorville, NY and Wendy Waldron and husband Paul of Mastic, NY, four sons; Richard Valentine of N.J., Gerald Valentine and wife Kim of Aurora, CO., Arthur Valentine of Smithtown, NY, and Robert Hering and wife Carolyn of Calverton, NY, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Mary Shore officiating.
