Dottie Hutchins

Dottie Hutchins, 78, of Brevard, a beautiful and loving wife, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina following a long illness. Born in Hayesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Will and Zona Cloer Hooper. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Joyce Galloway and Hilda Siniard and her brother, Darrell Hooper.

Dottie attended Blanton Business College and was employed in the offices of DuPont, Ecusta and the Transylvania County Clerk of Courts office before starting her successful home business, “Dottie’s Designs.”

She remained at home until one week prior to her death with the help of hospice and the excellent care of her husband and caregivers, Ann Whitmire and Linda Novosel. They also had much appreciated help from friends and neighbors in Connestee.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, James Hutchins and several nieces and nephews.

At Dottie’s request, there will be no services.
