Edna Team Bell passed away on October 6, 2022 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Leslie Team, Sr., and Katherine Jones Team. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John James Bell, Sr.; her brother Benjamin Leslie Team, Jr., brother-in-law Aubrey L. Whitfield and her son-in-law Kenneth Vause.
She is survived by her children: John Bell Jr., and daughter-in-law Jane, Katherine Bell Vause, Allen and daughter-in law Kristen, Walter J. Bell, Douglas Bell and Daughter in law Melissa. She leaves seven grandchildren: Patrick Bell and wife Diana, Lauren Bell, Katherine Boley and husband Bynum, Alec Bell, Jackson Vause and wife Fatima, Aaron Bell and Nathan Bell. She was the proud great-grandmother of four boys: Colin Bell, Anthony Bell, Zemp Boley and Calhoun Boley; and two girls, Natalie Bell and Isabel Boley.
She is also survived by a sister, Emily Team Whitfield, sister-in-law Helen Team, wife of brother-in-law Nancy Bell, and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Columbia, SC and raised in Camden, SC, Edna graduated from Winthrop College and worked in the employment office for Dupont until her marriage to John in 1952. Raising 5 children and managing several company transfers, including two to Brevard, Edna found time to develop an interest in quilting, cross-stitch and family genealogy. Spending time with family was a priority and she enjoyed the family summer gathering at the beach, time in the mountains and birdwatching. Her friends, neighbors, and members of the church community were extended family to her. She was a long-time member of Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church and served in many different ways.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church in Brevard with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC.
