Elizabeth Gravley

Elizabeth Collins Gravley, 93, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020. A native and life-long resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Claud and Mamie Chandler Collins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gravley; their son, Douglas Gravley; her brother Ed “Cotton” Gravley and her sisters Helen Fisher, JoAnn Warren and Virginia Collins.

A member of Glady Branch Baptist Church, she loved to tend to her vegetable garden and made sure her family had plenty to eat before the left. Generous to a fault, she also loved to visit local yard sales when she was able.

Her loving survivors include her daughters Shirley Ann Stepp of Hendersonville and Susan Akin and her husband Jeffrey of Brevard; her sister, Betty Merrill of Brevard, and 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Elizabeth Gravley will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.
