Elizabeth Jones

Elizabeth Jones, 81, of Lake Toxaway, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Dr. France and Laura Pressley Coren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jones who passed away in 2009.
Mrs. Jones was known by all as Libby, Mama, and mostly, as Mamaw. She was a long-standing member and the only pianist at Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, sewing and always enjoyed feeding anyone who was around.
She is survived by her children: Brenda Whitaker (Dave Wallenstein) of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Ensinger (Lowell) of Jamestown, TN, Wanda Arnold of Candler, NC, Sandra Cooper (Howard) of Gastonia, NC, Frank Jones (Sandi) of Brevard and Tracy Jones (Amanda) of lake Toxaway; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Elizabeth jones will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Reese and Rev. Vess McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Quebec. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
