Elizabeth Raulerson

Elizabeth "Betty" Raulerson, 95, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. A native of Wauchula, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Albert Werner and Eula Mae Ricketts Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands J.L. Branch and Allen Raulerson and daughters Norma Yohn and Patsy Smith and sons Larry Branch and Cherry Branch.

Betty Raulerson was born in Wauchula, FL in 1923 and raised by loving parents. After attending high school she went on to graduate from Florida Methodist College in Lakeland, Fl. She soon married a widower, Buddy Branch and began her life as a mother for 5 children. She joined her husband in the family business of operating a produce packing house in Bushnell, FL. The business grew and so did her family, having 1 child of her own. They enjoyed their time off traveling and spending time with family and grandchildren. Many trips were made with as many as they could fit into their car. Of the most memorable travels was the 1980 Olympics in Moscow and a tour of the Holy Land. When Buddy passed, she was left with a large cattle ranch and income property to manage on her own. She remarried Allen Raulerson who was a big help with the business. He passed in 2001 at which time she decided to move to North Carolina to live closer to her daughter in Hendersonville. Since moving, she has enjoyed her retirement life completely. She is loved and greatly respected by all her family. Her kindness and gentle personality comes natural and is a reflection of her remarkable parents.

Her survivors include her daughter, Joanne Talley Garner and husband Doug of Hendersonville, son Jimmy Branch and wife Jolinda of Punta Gorda, Florida; 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Betty Raulerson will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.
