Elizabeth (Bill) Jones Williams passed away on April 4, 2012 at the age of 91.  She was born in Barkers Creek, Jackson County, NC on June 19, 1920. She was the daughter of the late William A Jones and the late Augusta Jones.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arnold Williams, six brothers, three sisters and children Hamlin and Betty Sue.

She is survived by her son, Bill and his wife Susan of Cornelius, NC, daughter, Martha Misenheimer and her husband Bob of Lincolnton, NC, her sister, Edna of Sylva, NC, daughter-in-law, Betty Jane White  of Olin, NC, five grandsons, Christopher Williams and his wife Aleice of Rome, Georgia, Brian Williams and his wife Jill of Marietta, GA, Rob Miserheimer and his wife Elizabeth of Lakeland, FL,  Drew Misenheimer and wife Reese of Denver, NC and Charles Williams and his wife Melanie of Sherrill's Ford NC. In addition she is survived by four great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Williams left the mountains of Western North Carolina during World War II and supported the war effort in the aircraft plants of Detroit before returning to her beloved mountains at the end of the war. She married Arnold Williams on June 14, 1947 and was happily married until his death in October 2005.  She was a beloved Mother both to her own children and all of the children in the neighborhood. She took an active role in community affairs and was active in Democrat politics for years.



Until she was no longer able to attend, Mrs. Williams was an active member of St. Timothy's United Methodist Church, Brevard, NC.



A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Karen Easter officiating. The family will receive friends at Moore Funeral Home Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.



All are invited to attend a brief reception which will be held following the graveside service, at the fellowship hall of St. Timothy's United Methodist Church.
