Ellen Carey Bub, 92 , of Brevard, NC passed away on January 20, 2013, at Tore's Home in Brevard, North Carolina.

Ellen, and her twin sister Martha, were born May 15, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio in 1920 to Joseph Paterson Carey and Anna Louise Horstman Carey.  She lived most of her life in that area, moving a few years after her marriage to Robert Louis Bub to Gates Mills, Ohio where they raised their three daughters.  After her husbands retirement they lived part-time in Keowee Key, South Carolina, and from there she moved to the College Walk Retirement Community in Brevard.

Ellen always took an active role in her community, church and her children's schools.  She was proud of being an ordained Deacon in the Presbyterian Church and an Honorary member of the Gates Mills Community Club.

She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Peckinpaugh, of Pine Island, Florida, Kathleen Bub of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, and Roberta (Mrs. Anthony J.) Dugas of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, three grandchildren,  Elizabeth Hiatt, Margaret Spinelli and Jennifer Carey Bell, and two great grandchildren.


She was predeceased by her husband Robert Louis Bub and her sister Martha Benson.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given to Ellen by her primary caregivers, Emily Delgado, Lynn Hughes and Mary Linville.

A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
