Brevard - Ervin Goodman, 89, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Brian Center, Brevard, NC.

He was a son of the late Max Goodman and Ethel Roseman Goodman. A son Todd Goodman and a daughter, Judith preceded him in death. He served in the US Air Force.

Mr. Goodman was owner and operator of Goodman Vending for over 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was one of many supporters who helped bring the new Transylvania County Library to life. He was a lover of music and art.

Mr. Goodman was a member of Unitarian Universalists of Transylvania County.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Selma B. Goodman; one daughter, Cindy Carpenter, one brother Edward Goodman of Reading, Pa. and two grand children.
