Ethel Banther Mitchell



Brevard - Ethel Banther Mitchell, 89, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at The Oaks, formerly Ivy Hill, in Brevard.



A lifelong native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of Loonie and Maudie Banther. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lloyd Mitchell, a brother Marvin Banther, sisters Mae Galloway, Bonnie Anders, Mildred Hinkel, and Helen Owens and a great grandson Zachary Lyda.



She is survived by her daughters; DeLaine Walker and husband Tom of Brevard and Dorothy Mitchell of East Flat Rock, NC, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.



Ms. Mitchell was a member of First Baptist Church of Brevard. She retired from Belding Company in 1984 after 27 years of service. She resided at The Oaks for the past ten years.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, in the Chapel at Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Memorial Gardens Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service.
