Eva Denninger

Eva Denninger (91) of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away on January 9, 2024.  She was born Eva Dominica Desio in the Bronx, NY on April 24, 1932 to the late Jack and Cecelia Desio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jane, and her husband, Frederick W. Denninger, who went by the name of Bob. Bob and Eva were married on August 7, 1965 and were married for 48 years.  Prior to marrying Bob, Eva was married for a brief time to her first husband Clifford Lang, who died of heart issues in 1959, at which time she was raising her two girls ages 4 and 3. 

She leaves behind two daughters, Denise, and Renee (husband John), two sons, Jeff, and Steve, four grandchildren, Sarah, Angela (husband Mark), Jesse, and Emily, and one great granddaughter, Victoria. 

Eva worked as an office manager for a Dr. Harvey’s dental practice in Ridgewood NJ for most of her career until she retired in 2001. She retired to Deer Lake in Brevard with her husband Bob in 2002. 

She loved to travel and had some wonderful Euorpen vacations and did extensive travel through the United States. She also loved to volunteer and worked at Safe, Habitat for Humanity and the library in Brevard. She was still volunteering at the library up until last year. She was a sports fan and loved her NY Yankees but also followed football, golf, and bowling. 

She loved her animals and raised multiple German Shepards and cats during her lifetime.  

Lastly, Eva loved her family. Her family was her world.  

There will be a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations, 100 N Country Club Road, Brevard, NC. She will be buried at the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory immediately following. 

The family will be hosting a reception at the Deer Lake Clubhouse at 2:00 for anyone that would like to join us.
