Eva Sentelle Rogers
Pisgah Forest - Eva Sentelle Rogers passed away September 8, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Transylvania County she was a daughter of the late Jethro and Tunia Burns Sentelle. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Bly Rogers; a son Kevin Bly Rogers; a brother, Orville Sentelle; and sisters, Thelma Merrill and Faye Simms.

She was an active member of her church for many years devoting her service by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, teaching GA's, and serving as Bible School Director. She worked for Varner's Drugstore for several years and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was a floral designer for both McCosh's and Country Creations Florist. She was also a wedding planner. She worked in the Ecusta Lab and was a member of the Ecusta Band and Quartet. She taught in the Transylvania County School Systems first at Penrose and then Straus Elementary. She retired from public education with 20 years of service. She truly enjoyed encouraging, loving, and guiding her students each and everyday.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by a son; Keith Rogers and wife Sonja of Rosman; a daughter, Sonya Morris and husband Terry of Pisgah Forest; a daughter-in-law; Tamara Rogers, three brothers, Frazier, Kline, and Charles Sentelle all of Pisgah Forest; six grandchildren, Michelle, Natasha, Tara, Jacob, Justin and his wife LeShea and Cody; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Kyley. Her family was her pride and joy.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church at 2:30pm. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:15pm at the church. Burial will follow at Pisgah Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Transylvania County Hospice, 1266 Asheville Hwy #5, Brevard, NC 28712.
