Festus Wilde

Festus Coolidge Wilde, 85, of Lake Toxaway, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 19, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.

He was a son of the late Joseph Stokely Wilde and Ethel Phillips Wilde. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Monteith Wilde who died in 2008, one brother; J.A. Wilde, three sisters; Nell Owen, Marie McKinney Moody and Oneda Johnson.

He was a charter member of North Toxaway Baptist Church. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy. He retired from Ecusta/P.F. Gladfelter with 39 years of service.

He was a man with a great sense of humor; he loved life and lived it with passion. A smile that you'll never forget, a joke, a giggle and sparkling blue eyes. He loved the Lord, his family and spending his Friday nights at the Lake Toxaway Community Center Jamborees and his week day lunches at the Quebec Community Center.

He is survived by his daughter; Evelyn Wilde Hall and her husband Jack of Lake Toxaway, two brothers; Stokely Wilde and Kadez Wilde, two sisters; Dorothy Galloway and Exie Henson, two adored granddaughters; Tanya Hall Dalton and her husband Jake of Lake Toxaway and Tysha Hall Owens and her husband Nathan of Brevard, five great grandchildren; Shanequa, Kline, Chantel and Kaegan Dalton and Rettek Owens, and one great great granddaughter; Jaylen Roach.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April, 21, 2013 at North Toxaway Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Mullis, Rev. Tommy Owen, Rev. Kadez Wilde and Rev. Charles Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7PM- 9PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at North Toxaway Baptist Church.
