Finley Harris

Finley Harris, 67, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. A native of Brevard, he was the son of the late Burder and Deller Reece Harris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers David Harris and Michael Harris, and his sisters Darlene Harris and Sally Harris.

Finley was a hard worker, driving a truck for a few years before settling into his career as a logger and timber cutter. He enjoyed working in the woods. But after work he loved to fish and make music, playing guitar, mandolin and banjo and singing country, bluegrass and southern-rock songs.

But his greatest joy was in his son, Finley Gene Harris, his three grandchildren and his love for his family.

Finley is survived by his son, Finley Gene Harris of Rosman, NC; grandchildren Violet Harris, Silas Harris and Jonah Harris; brothers Randall Harris (Brenda), Billy Harris (Nancy) and Jerry Harris.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremation Services at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 with Rev. Roger Todd and Rev. Travis Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Harris Cemetery in Tuckaseegee, NC.
